2030: Nomination for Wallenberg Scholars

The Wallenberg Foundations have decided to announce a new call for the Wallenberg Scholars program in 2030. The program aims to support and stimulate some of the most successful researchers at Swedish universities.

This program focuses on Sweden’s leading senior researchers. It was implemented to support researchers with long-term funding without the distraction of pressure to secure external grants in order to carry out world-class research.

Universities can apply for support to profile their prioritized research areas by nominating individual researchers, who through their research are of top international class and who are expected to contribute to strengthening the profile of the university. The grant amounts to 5 MSEK/year for five years and can be freely used for all research activities. The intention is that the selected researchers will be able to work highly ambitiously in order to gain even better international impact on their research.

Application dates

The call opens on January 14, 2030 with deadline for applications on February 14, 2030 at 13.00.

Board decision is expected in November 2030.

Project start 2031-01-01 or 2031-07-01
