Sustainability related research

Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation supports basic research in medicine, technology, and science. This support focus on basic research. Every year, more than 300 international experts review submitted proposals and the foundation makes its decision completely on the basis of their recommendations and always with a focus on international excellence.

In other words, the Foundation has no targeted call for sustainability, but simply supports the best individuals and projects. However, there is a very large focus in the academic world on sustainability related research in a broad sense and this is reflected in the projects that the foundation supports.

To make that research visible, we have collected it and divided it into four areas. Through the links below you reach researchers who have, or have received grants from the Foundation in the areas:

Environment, climate and evolution

New material and green chemistry

Renewable energy

Research on plants, trees and ecosystems in a changing climate
