Elin Esbjörner at Chalmers University of Technology researches Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. She aims to understand why nerve cells in the brain die in order to stop or slow down the disease process. She primarily studies exosomes, which are believed to transport the toxic protein clumps that form. Better knowledge about exosomes can be useful in developing new methods for diagnosing and treating brain diseases.
