Disease-causing viruses and bacteria that the body's immune system can’t handle are a major health problem. Wallenberg Academy Fellow Carmen Gerlach at Karolinska Institutet explores how our immune system works. In focus of her research is the T-cells, which she hopes will be able to provide puzzle pieces for better vaccines and medicines.
